Former US President Donald Trump was questioned under oath on Wednesday in a lawsuit brought against him by a newspaper writer who said he raped her.

E Jean Carroll claims that the attack took place in the room of a luxury clothing store in New York in the mid-1990s.

Trump denied the allegations and said Carroll was lying, which prompted her to file a defamation lawsuit.

Carroll's lawyer did not disclose details of the interrogation, but said it happened on Wednesday.
